About

  About Us Pic

Phoenix Children’s Project helps impoverished children right here in the metro Phoenix area. We’ve been doing this work for over 20 years and are funded solely by private corporations and individuals. We receive no government funding.

We are passionate about what we do. We will "give them fish" a few times, but then "we teach them how to fish." We help the underprivileged help themselves.

In January of 2004, Phoenix Children’s Project (PCP) was formed as a 501c3 charitable, tax exempt, non-profit organization. PCP helps children living below poverty level in Phoenix, Arizona, and there are currently over 350 families and 1,000 children enrolled in our Programs.

Phoenix Children’s Project is run solely by volunteers therefore there are no paid staff and all administrative costs, which are minimal, are covered by separate grants, donations or volunteers. Truly a grass roots, charitable organization.

Accomplishments

Thanks to the support of Metro Phoenix community and tremendous help of some local businesses, some our accomplishments are:

  • In 2011 we delivered over 5,000 Christmas presents bringing our total to over 23,020 gifts and 295 holiday dinners delivered in the past few years!
  • To date we've provided new beds and bedding to over 41 children who otherwise would be sleeping on the floor or on an old couch.
  • Each winter we give children warm coats, hat and gloves.
  • Provided eye exams and eye glasses for many kids.
  • Over 20 children have gone to summer camp in northern Arizona. Some of these kids became camp counselors once they were teens.
  • Arranged for many kids to have swim lessons and water safety classes through The City of Phoenix.
  • Guided some families who were living below poverty level in the purchase of their very own home! We gave them a plan to follow and they are now proud homeowners!
